Miranda Lambert will join Aldean for select baseball stadium dates in Cleveland (July 18), Cincinnati (July 19), and Pittsburgh (July 26) this summer.
The stars announced the news through a series of humorous tweets. When Aldean asked for another player for his wiffle ball team, Lambert was quick to step up to the plate. She then graciously accepted Aldean’s invitation to play some songs while she is there as well.
The conversation ended with both artists expressing their excitement:
@Jason_Aldean: Cool. It’s official. @mirandalambert is joining us @Indians @CincinnatiReds @Pirates – More info at jasonaldean.com #BurnItDownTour
@mirandalambert: Can’t wait to party with @Jason_Aldean on the #BurnItDownTour! I’m coming for ya @Indians @CincinnatiReds @Pirates

Those of you who follow Jason Aldean and/or Keepin’ It Country on Twitter know that Aldean has been teasing a big announcement as of late. To get fans excited for this big announcement, ten photograph clues were placed on Aldean’s social media pages. Buzz stirred and guesses were free flying, as many began to deduce that Aldean would be taking his 2014 tour back into baseball stadiums across North America.
As it turns out, those fans who synthesized the clues (such as Dustin Diamond, a baseball, and stadium seating) and determined Aldean is performing in stadiums again were correct! On today’s installment of Good Morning America, Aldean announced that he has formed a partnership with Major League Baseball in connection with his 2014 Burn It Down Tour (with special guests Florida Georgia Line and Tyler Farr). Though the stadium dates have yet to be announced, Aldean’s website released several other tour dates for 2014, which will, presumably, lead up to the stadium portion of the tour.

Jason Aldean topped the Billboard Chart in both the U.S. and Canada this week with his single, “Night Train.” Written by Neil Thrasher and Michael Dulaney, the song is the title track from Aldean’s platinum fifth album and marks his twelfth number one single! Congratulations, Jason!
“When I first heard this song we were already done looking for material for this last record, but I just loved it and thought it was worth making room for,” said Aldean. “It seems so crazy to say that this is my 12th #1 – I promise you each one is just as sweet as the first one.”
The CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee also recently announced that he will release a live concert film, Night Train To Georgia, on October 15th. The show was recorded in April at the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium with a sold out crowd of over 66,000 people.

The title track from his latest album will be sent out to country radio at 12:01 am tonight, so make sure to keep your ears on your local stations to see if you’ll hear it tomorrow! Are you excited for this pairing? Who are you favorite country music award show hosts?
Jason Aldean has filed for divorce from his wife, and TMZ has sent us the official documents. The country music superstar married his high school sweetheart Jessica Ussery, who has been by his side since the start of his career. The pair were not together at the Academy of Country Music Awards Red Carpet earlier this month. Jason, whose last name is legally Williams, filed on April 26th, for irreconcilable differences. They have two daughters together, Keeley and Kendyl.
Jason released a statement late yesterday about his divorce proceedings:
“This is a really tough time for my entire family. Jessica and I have been together since we were teenagers. We’ve been through a lot of ups and downs over the years as we grew up together as a couple. She will always be important to me because she is the mother of my children, and I know that we will both always make our daughters our #1 priority.
I’ve learned that everyone always rushes to judgment when they hear news like this. That’s really hard because no one knows anything about our relationship but us. I understand that because of my job, I have to go through a lot of this in the public eye, but for my girls’ sake I really wish people would give us some level of privacy and at the very least be respectful of them.”
EDIT: we have removed the divorce documents as personal information was not blacked out.
Yesterday was a big day for Jason Aldean, who found himself nominated for some pretty big Billboard Music Awards. The Academy of Country Music’s male vocalist of the year is up for the all-genre Top Male Artist against Flo Rida, Justin Bieber, Drake, and Bruno Mars. He also earned a nomination for Top Country Album with “Night Train” and Top Country Artist. He’s up against Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Taylor Swift, and Hunter Hayes for Top Country Artist. The other Top Country Album nominees include Lionel Richie with “Tuskegee,” Carrie Underwood “Blown Away,” Taylor Swift “Red,” and Luke Bryan “Tailgates & Tanlines.”
About his nominations, Jason said:
“I’m really proud to be the guy that gets to represent our genre in that ‘Top Male’ category and wave that flag for country music. Our genre is bigger and more diverse than ever, and it’s just cool to be part of this movement that’s happening right now. I’ve been so focused on getting the tour going this year and just making certain our first run of stadiums is everything the fans expect it to be, that this totally caught me be surprise. Thanks to everyone who has bought a ticket or downloaded an album…I’ll do my best to represent and make y’all proud! “
Nominations are based on album and single sales, radio airplay, touring, streaming and social media interactions with data tracked by Billboard, Nielsen and Next Big Sound. The 2013 Billboard Music Awards will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 19 at 7pm CT on ABC.
Jason is currently on the road for his 2013 NIGHT TRAIN TOUR which has sold out every show so far including his Madison Square Garden debut and the first ever show at the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium where he played to 66,000 fans. More stadium dates on the books this year include two nights at Boston’s Fenway Park (July 12 and 13) and Chicago’s Wrigley Field (July 20).
