EXCLUSIVE: Interview With Tom McMillan From Tom’s Wild Life

tommcmillan

I was told to be prepared for all kinds of crazy in my phone interview with Tom McMillan this afternoon. The star of Tom’s Wild Life has no regrets for the funny things he says, but he’s also one of the nicest guys I’ve spoken to. Tom’s Wild Life’s second season debuts tomorrow night on GAC, a six pack of a season – only six episodes. We find out who will be joining Tom, what’s the stupidest thing Blake Shelton has ever said to him, if Miranda Lambert is a better hunter, and how old he was when he broke state law to first go hunting. Find out all that and more in our exclusive interview below.

Tom’s Wild Life follows the crazy life of Tom McMillan and his family as they hang out with some celebrity friends, not only hunting, but traveling around the United States as well. He’s an All-American guy who loves his guns, his hunting, and his country music – so get ready to know the man behind the laughs.

Watch the preview of the new season before you read our interview and tune in tomorrow night at 9:30 pm EST. Tomorrow’s episode features Easton Corbin, Kevin Canady and Chris Tate – who look to get even with Tom on the green after he makes things difficult for them.

CountryMusicIsLove to Host 3rd Annual City of Hope Benefit Concert

2012CMILPosterWebSize

If you find yourself in the Nashville area at the end of this month, you won’t want to miss this great opportunity to support our fellow country music bloggers CountryMusicIsLove and the City of Hope!

CountryMusicIsLove is proud to announce the 3rd Annual CountryMusicIsLove Concert benefiting City of Hope, one of the nation’s leading research, treatment and education centers for cancer and other life-threatening diseases. This year’s concert will feature acoustic performances by Micheal Ray, Chris Cavanaugh, Kristen Kelly, THE FARM, JT Hodges, Chuck Wicks, Love and Theft, Casey James, and Craig Campbell. Whitney Duncan will do double duty as host and performer for the second year in a row.

The cause hits close to home for many of the artists, including Casey James. “My family has been massively affected by cancer,” James shares. “My Paw-Paw passed away last year from cancer. My Nana passed away from cancer and my mother is a two-time cancer survivor, thyroid and breast. I can go on and on. There’s a large history of that in my family. Anything I can do to help and to do my part to make things better, I’ve always been into doing that, so it was an honor to be asked to come out and play. I’m excited to play the music and come see the fans, but most excited just to be a part of the whole thing.”

The 3nd Annual CountryMusicIsLove Concert benefiting City of Hope will be held February 21, 2012 at 7:30pm at Exit/In in Nashville, Tenn. Tickets are $15 and 100% of tickets sales will be donated to City of Hope. Tickets are available here: http://bit.ly/cmiltickets.

Video Picks Of The Week: February 5, 2012

Chuck Wicks

Hello friends…

We give you our latest “Video Picks of the Week!”

Music Video

This week’s music video is The Wreckers‘ number one hit single, “Leave The Pieces.” I have always been a big Michelle Branch fan so when she formed The Wreckers with Jessica Harp back in 2005, I was excited to check out their music. Their album Stand Still, Look Pretty is still one of my favorite country albums, and is comprised of some really great music. The girls returned to their solo careers after just one record, but the duo is still one of my favorite country groups and I hope to hear more country music from Branch and Harp in the future. Meanwhile, keep an eye out for Branch’s new mainstream album that is slated to drop this year.
