It’s no secret that Brandon Chase of NBC’s The Voice is a favorite here at Keepin’ It Country. We had the chance to catch up with Brandon last week after his Voice Battle round aired. As usual, he was incredibly humble and gave us some insight into his journey on the show thus far.
Although only a few seconds of Brandon’s battle round actually aired on television, we were thrilled with Brandon’s big win. He told us that it was beyond difficult to keep that secret. “Keeping the secret of the Blinds was hard and the Battles was equally, if not more difficult.. I so wanted to say ‘Yeah I made it’ but I contained myself.”
For his battle, Brandon went up against 15-year-old, Emily Randolph and performed “Tiny Dancer.” Both the song choice and his competitor made him nervous, as he admitted he wasn’t too familiar with the Elton John track. “I wasn’t super familiar with the song and didn’t know that Tim McGraw had a version,” Brandon tells us. “But after hearing that version, the choice made a lot more sense to me. It ended up being an incredible song for my voice. It really compliments my tone and shows off my range more than a song I might’ve picked would have.”
Last week, America was introduced to Brandon Chase, a rising country singer from Arlington, Texas who was picked by Blake Shelton on NBC’s The Voice. We’re pretty excited to say “We knew him first” when it comes to Brandon, as we discovered him earlier this year and spoke to him about his musical aspirations. He even appeared on our StageIt and world premiered a song called “Miracle” for the fans watching live.
Having worked with Brandon, we were thrilled to discover he was going to be appearing on The Voice. In addition to being an incredible talent, he’s also one of the nicest people we’ve ever had the chance to speak with. Luckily, we were able to chat with him again after his first appearance on The Voice.
If you missed Brandon’s appearance, he sang “Wanted” by Hunter Hayes, a song he’s done many times before. “’Wanted’ is a song I’ve been doing for quite a while since it came out…and everyone’s always loved it. It’s such a great song, and the lyrics are awesome. It makes you feel good, and it’s a song I can relate to and come across as genuine.” Brandon says. “Those lyrics are truly what I want to do with my music, to make people feel wanted and special, because they are.”
The Voice returns on September 23rd! Raise your hand if you’re excited. Did you do it? Ok, good!
The original gang is back together for Season 5… Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, & CeeLo Green all return to their awesomely cool spin chairs.
NBC also just announced the teams’ advisors for this cycle. Music legend Cher will assist Blake, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder will join Adam, Ed Sheeran will work with Christina, and Miguel will team up with CeeLo.
Shelton has won the past three season of The Voice. The only other coach to take home a win is Levine for Season 1. Can Blake do it again?!
Tune into NBC on Sept. 23rd for the new season of The Voice.
And in the meantime, check out this hilarious promo:
Long before country was a mainstay on NBC’s The Voice, Jared Blake brought country to the small screen as a member of Team Blake in 2011. Now Blake has released his first single “Countryfied” to radio, with an album to follow. The track was produced by Grammy-winner, Skidd Mills (Saving Abel).
Blake is currently performing on his nationwide “Countryfied Tour” promoting the single and playing live shows at some of the nations’ largest events and biggest stages. He has recently performed alongside of Billy Currington and Jerrod Niemann.
The Voice finale for season 4 aired last night, and it’s a three-peat for Blake Shelton. The new Voice title went to Team Blake’s 16-year-old country singer, Danielle Bradbery.
Danielle was a favorite from early on in the competition. She consistently wowed the coaches and audience every week. The Voice was the first audition she ever had, but you would never know that watching her perform. She looked like a seasoned professional on the stage, and her top-notch vocals seemed effortless. Danielle has “it”… we are going to see a lot of her in country music!
Coach Blake has won the last three seasons of The Voice. We love getting to see Shelton mentor the contestants and help navigate their careers. He really is so wonderful with his team, and he truly sticks with them once the show is over.
It also happened to be Shelton’s birthday yesterday and I think the win was a pretty awesome present!
Fellow Team Blake members, The Swon Brothers, came in third place. Zach and Colton are on great duo and I think they are going to be very successful as well. I am still blown away by their version of “Danny’s Song.” It’s a must download from iTunes if you have not grabbed it yet.
I also want to recognize Team Usher member, Michelle Chamuel, who finished as the runner-up. She was so great this season as well and what a humble and gracious personality.
I truly think this was the best season of The Voice thus far. The talent was excellent, and Usher and Shakira were perfect additions for our two favorite guys, Blake and Adam.
Congratulations to Danielle and Blake, as well as The Swon Brothers & Michelle! We wish you all continued success with your music careers!
Until Season 5, Voice fans…
Check out Danielle performing “Maybe It Was Memphis” from earlier this season:
As America waits to find out if Danielle Bradbery, the Swon Brothers or Michelle Chamuel will be named the next winner of NBC’s The Voice, viewers will be treated to a live performance by Florida Georgia Line. The ACM New Artist of the Year winners will perform their Triple-Platinum smash “Cruise” Remix featuring Nelly on tomorrow night’s Voice season finale.
Danielle Bradbery, Holly Tucker, and The Swon Brothers all advance to next week’s Top 8. Team Adam also returns all three remaining members, while Usher and Shakira each had to say good-bye to another teammate last night.
Blake definitely put together a strong team, and all three should do well with a career in country music in the future.
First, Danielle is a star! She has powerful vocals that are always spot on. The voice mixed in with her amazing stage presence and personality makes her a definite front-runner in the competition. She seems like a seasoned performer, yet she is the youngest contestant and the show was her first audition.
Next, we have Holly Tucker. She’s another fantastic vocalist, who I think just had her best performance this week. All I could say after watching her version of “How Great Art Thou” was ‘DANG! That was awesome!’ And I’m not southern… Blake is rubbing off on me.
Finally, the Swon Brothers. They are so unique and are as country as you can get. Whether they are rockin’ out or slowing things down, the brothers truly shine together.
Blake may just have another win on his hands. Could it be a three-peat for Team Blake? I think Adam is his biggest competition right now, and it will probably come down to a Team Blake vs. Team Adam showdown.
Team Blake advances another week and is stronger than ever!
It was Top 12 time on The Voice this week, and the voting was left completely up to the public. The coaches did not get a vote nor could they save anyone. Usher and Shakira each ended up losing a team member in Vedo and Garrett, respectively, while Team Blake & Team Adam remained in tact.
That means Danielle Bradbery, Holly Tucker, and The Swon Brothers move on! Blake sure did put together a powerhouse country team.
Congrats, Team Blake! We’re rooting for you. Keep it up and keep it country!
The Top 10 take the stage Monday night on NBC at 8/7c!
