Alabama to celebrate 40 years with Friends album

One of country music’s most successful and influential groups of all time, ALABAMA, will release their highly anticipated new album, ALABAMA & Friends, on Tuesday, August 27 through Show Dog-Universal Music. The project is a tribute album, honoring the legendary group that helped change the face of country music.

ALABAMA & Friends will feature some of country music’s hottest stars — all delivering their own unique versions of the multi-platinum-selling band’s biggest hits, including Jason Aldean (“Tennessee River”), Luke Bryan (“Love in the First Degree”), Kenny Chesney (“Lady Down on Love”), Eli Young Band (“The Closer You Get”), Florida Georgia Line (“I’m in a Hurry (And Don’t Know Why)”), Jamey Johnson (“My Home’s in Alabama”), Toby Keith (“She and I”), Rascal Flatts (“Old Flame”) and Trisha Yearwood (“Forever’s As Far As I’ll Go”).

The 11-song collection will also feature the band’s first new tracks in over 10 years – “All American” (written by Trey Bruce) and “That’s How I Was Raised” (written by Charley Stefl, Tony Ramey, Skip Sasser and Trent Tomlinson), which has the group teaming again with legendary producer Harold Shedd who worked closely with the group in their early years.

Luke Bryan Reveals “Crash My Party” Track Listing

In preparation to release his new album, Crash My Party, Luke Bryan has revealed the track-listing and cover art. The title track is already a #1 hit, and we’re sure there’s many more to follow.

“I decided ‘Crash My Party’ was perfect for this album because like the song, the album goes beyond the literal meaning of the title,” Bryan says. “The song isn’t what you think it is, it is unexpected, and I think in the same way fans will definitely hear some surprises on my new album. It still reflects my sound but you will get to hear a little bit deeper, different side to me musically as well.”

“Crash My Party” is slated for release on Aug. 13 via Capitol Records. A deluxe version featuring 4 extra tracks, “What Is It With You,” “Sunburnt Lips,” “Better Than My Heart” and “Your Mama Should’ve Named You Whiskey” will be available exclusively at Target. It is currently available for pre-order.

Exclusive Interview: Introducing Ryan Beaver

For those not yet familiar with Ryan Beaver, we want to change that for you. The Texan musician/singer-songwriter has released two albums independently and built quite the loyal following in and around his home state. In our exclusive interview, we discuss his inspirations, his recent move to Nashville, George Strait and more.

KIC: For those readers who may be ‘meeting’ you for the first time in this blog, can you give us a little bit of a back story as to how you began performing?

RB: I’ve always had a love affair for music, songs, instruments, & musicians. It began very young as my Mother played piano and my Father played his records. It was always a special thing for me that developed over time. Eventually I couldn’t stop thinking about it day in and out and began to write songs. It’s like an infectious disease. Once you catch it, there is no cure.

KIC: You’ve released two albums independently, with the most recent coming out in 2011. What’s next for you?

RB: A third album is in the works. I should be recording it this fall and will be looking forward to its release. I’ll give it everything I have and it still won’t feel done. That’s just how I am. I can’t wait to share my new songs and stories with the fans of what I do. I also can’t believe how lucky I am to be calling this a job.

Kenny Chesney to debut new music video

Kenny Chesney.

Country superstar Kenny Chesney will debut his brand new music video for “When I See This Bar” with USA Today next week! The video will premier on July 18th on USA Today’s website.

About the new video and single, Kenny said:

“I think people, whether they’re country fans, music fans or just alive, all have a place like this, a place where they grew up, fell in love, learned to move on. You may never go back there, or only go back as a pilgrimage to who you were and how much you’ve grown … But that place? That place is always alive in your heart.”

Kenny was recently named People Country’s Hottest Man of 2013 in the May issue, beating out Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Jake Owen and more.

Miranda Lambert’s Muttnation comes to the rescue

Miranda Lambert.

Miranda Lambert‘s Muttnation charity came to the rescue of one special New Jersey animal shelter. The wife of a Philadelphia country station DJ met the superstar backstage during a meet-and-greet in Atlantic City, NJ and told her the story about Popcorn Park Zoo in Forked River, New Jersey. Mike Razz’s wife, Kelly Beasley, approached the singer about the organization because of Miranda’s partnership with Pedigree to feed an animal shelter for a year. Kelly had previously nominated the Zoo for the prize through Muttnation and Pedigree.

Miranda made a $5,000 donation on behalf of Muttnation Foundation to Popcorn Park Zoo after learning that they also served as an animal shelter that housed exotic animals that were abused or neglected. After learning about the background of the Popcorn Park Zoo, Miranda introduced the Philadelphia station to her mother, Bev Lambert, who serves as chair for Muttnation.

Muttnation Foundation is a donation-supported charity that works to end pet suffering and homelessness in the United States. The organization works to build awareness of pet adoption, build no-kill shelters for better animal care, increase spay and neuter awareness, and train shelter dogs for therapy programs such as wounded military personnel or dogs-in-prison programs.
