Blake Shelton takes over Florida club for free show
Florida country music fans had quite a surprise waiting for them last weekend. Oklahoma superstar Blake Shelton woke up and decided he was going to play a free, impromptu show for fans in a “Fan Appreciation Concert” in Cape Coral. Blake called up Clear Channel country WCKT/Fort Myers’ Todd Nixon and asked him to put together a very-last-minute free show for fans in Dixie’s Roadhouse. Of course, the station quickly agreed and teamed up with their nightclub partner for the once-in-a-lifetime event.
Dixie Roadhouse’s owner, Linn Pippenger, shared:
“When you get a call telling you to wake up, Blake Shelton wants to play your club, you get right up!”
It was all hands on deck for this concert, as Cape Coral’s police department quickly got up detail units with generators to support the surprise concert. Local news stations, radio stations, and fans rushed the scene for the party of the weekend.
Were you able to go to the surprise fan appreciation concert? Do you want to see Blake do more of this in the future?
