CMA Musical Event of The Year & Video of the Year Winners

There are already two early winners today before the 46th Annual Country Music Association (CMA) Awards even air! The CMAs announced the winner of Musical Event of the Year and Video of the Year this morning, and the award show will air tonight at 8 pm EST on ABC. Congratulations to Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw for winning Musical Event of the Year for their duet “Feel Like A Rock Star.” Both Kenny and Tim will be performing during tonight’s broadcast – Tim with a brand new song!

The Video of the Year went to Toby Keith‘s smash hit “Red Solo Cup” director Michael Saloman. Toby, who won’t be attending tonight’s award show, released his brand new album “Hope On The Rocks” this week. On not attending the CMA awards, Toby told a newspaper:

“Your industry can get behind you and crank you up and make you a household name, help you get there. Or you can be abandoned like I was. I’m not going to leave it up to this industry that I’m in to give me any support.”

While Toby won’t be in attendance tonight, he’s 100% at this year’s award show – going one for one for the nomination for “Red Solo Cup.” What do you think about the winners so far? Don’t forget to follow along with us on Twitter tonight for our live Tweets for the East Coast as the awards air!
