Taylor Swift Donates To School For Deaf

Taylor Swift had a way to turn the tables on a mean internet prank. As part of a promotion with VH1 Storytellers, students were able to vote for their schools to receive a private, once-in-a-lifetime performance from Taylor in their classrooms for an episode of the show. As is the case with most internet voting, a group of people decided to vote in a school for deaf children. Horace Mann School ended up winning the vote, but was disqualified as the votes were not from the school’s own students.

Although the school will not be getting the intimate Taylor concert, she did donate money and concert tickets as well as inviting the entire student body to a future show of hers. The invitation extends from kindergarten to twelfth grade. Taylor also convinced her partners Covergirl, Papa John’s, CHEGG, and American Greetings to donate a total of $50,000 to the school, and “Save The Music” will donate $10,000 in instruments.
