Country music superstar Carrie Underwood took some time out of her busy schedule for some very important guests. She teamed up with radio station WKLB for a visit to the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center in Boston yesterday. Her visit was part of the Country Music Healing Tour, which brings top country acts to the bedsides of young patients in the region.
During her stop, she sang an impromptu “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” to a special two-year-old patient who requested it from her. She visited patients and families in the medical/surgical unit, and the pediatric bone marrow transplant unit. Each child she visited received an autographed “Blown Away” album.
“We are so grateful to Carrie for partnering with us to bring this one-of-a-kind experience to the children and families at Floating Hospital,” said WKLB;s Mike Brophey. “This is a very special opportunity for us to participate in a small way in the healing process of the hospital’s pediatric patients, and the generosity of Country performers like Carrie Underwood is what makes it possible.”
