Blake Shelton Discusses New Christmas Album

It’s sounding like country superstar Blake Shelton is going all-out for his Christmas album. The Voice coach will be releasing his first-ever Christmas collection, “Cheers… It’s Christmas,” in October. Just in case fans want to start thinking about Christmas before Halloween. The album features guests Michael Buble, Reba McEntire, and even Blake’s own mother Dorothy Shackleford.

Blake will be making a classic Christmas album, hopefully one that crosses genres. He recorded at the famous Capitol Studios will a full orchestra – another first in his career. The album will feature Christmas classics that he grew up listening to, and a brand new song written by Blake and his mom.

“I wanted my Christmas record to be a classic-sounding album, bigger than any genre,” Blake said. “The recording process definitely took me out of my element and pushed me to really work through a lot of ideas. But in the end, what Scott Hendricks (producer) and I came up with is a classic Christmas record that I’m very proud of.”

Canadian Michael Buble will also be joining Blake on the upcoming third season of NBC’s The Voice, and will help Team Blake by being the adviser this year. Last season, Blake’s friend, Kelly Clarkson, and his wife, Miranda Lambert, worked as advisers to his team. Reba McEntire was the first adviser to Team Blake in the first season of the hit reality singing competition.

Will you be picking up Blake’s album when it comes out, or will it be too early to start thinking Christmas?
