Country music superstar Tim McGraw has announced a national initiative to support American Military Members while on tour. He’ll launch HomeFront in partnership with Chase and Operation Homefront to award mortgage-free homes to wounded warriors and service members at each stop of his tour this Summer.
It’s a program that other organizations have already recognized as important: both the ACM Lifting Lives, which is the charitable arm of the Academy of Country Music, and The Premier Group on behalf of North Carolina Furniture Manufacturers, have made major contributions to the effort.
Tim has always been a strong supporter of veterans throughout his career, and he was trying to find another way to help them this year. To kick-start Tim’s brand new program, he’ll perform a special Memorial Day Concert for remembrance and gratitude for service men and women at New York City’s Beacon Theater during Fleet Week in partnership with Chase and the USO.
“My sister’s a veteran of the first Gulf War. My uncle was a Vietnam veteran and my grandfather was a World War II veteran. I’ve always felt a deep sense of respect and obligation to our troops,” says Tim. “Being able to reward them for their dedicated work with a new home will be even more rewarding for us. It feels so good to give back to them, and to have the opportunity to entertain them on Memorial Day is something I’m honored to do.”
On June 2nd, in Tampa, Tim will kick-off the biggest tour of the season with Kenny Chesney on their “Brothers of the Sun Tour.”
