The Roys Host an Intimate Hour of Music and Talk on 650 AM WSM

The Roys.

Award-winnng brother/sister bluegrass duo The Roys are booked on 650 AM WSM Radio’s Guest Artist Series tomorrow, May 22, at 2 p.m. CDT.  The show will give a unique perspective on the host as well as gives them a chance to play some of their own music, along with some of their favorite tracks by other entertainers.  Listeners will get the chance to learn the stories behind the songs and what makes certain records meaningful to the hosts.

Lee and Elaine Roy’s current single, “Trailblazer” is moving to the #4 spot on June’s Power Source Bluegrass Top 35 Chart, it is safe to say that The Roys know a good song when they hear it.  Listeners can expect to hear a broad range of music when the duo hosts the show.  The duo had this to say about their upcoming appearance:

We believe it all begins with a song…So for us, this is a really cool format for a show.  – Lee Roy

We’ve wanted to do this show for a very long time…The stars finally lined up for us, and we plan to make the most of it.  – Elaine Roy

The duo’s schedule over the summer is jam-packed with events for the CMA Music Festival.  They will be riding on the event’s opening day parade and will be performing songs from their correct album, Lonesome Whistle, on several stages at the Festival.  The Roys will also perform for fans and sign autographs at one of their favorite venues: the world famous Ernest Tubb Record Shop in downtown Nashville.

Joe Limardi, 650 AM WSM’s Operations Manager, said:

I’m looking forward to the chemistry that Elaine and Lee have on stage to come through the speakers during their upcoming guest hour…Better not blink, it’ll go quickly and most definitely be fun!

The Roys will return to host another show later this summer on June 26.  Fans can listen to both shows online at www.wsmonline.com.  For more information about The Roys, visit www.theroysonline.com.
