Happy Anniversary Blake and Miranda!
@Miranda_Lambert: This time last year I was getting ready to walk down the isle. Today I get to be at home with my husband and reflect on this crazy year:)
The dynamic duo has had quite a year since their May 14, 2011, nuptials. After their wedding in Texas, the couple was almost immediately placed under the baby watch radar as rumors swirled that the Sheltons were expecting a baby. But it seems the only thing being added to the Shelton Family this year were three dogs and a cat.
@Miranda_Lambert: Why is it always me. Guess what showed up today? ilsa the “acro-cat”:)
See what else their first year of marriage has brought for the couple below:
The past year for both Blake and Miranda has been great personally as well as professionally. They co-wrote the gold certified No. 1 song ‘Over You’ together about Blake’s brother, Rickie who died when Blake was 14. At the CMA Awards in November, the Sheltons took home the Male and Female Vocalists of the Year awards for the second year in a row.
They were also asked to sing ‘America the Beautiful’ before the Super Bowl. During the performance, Blake and Miranda held hands, showing their love and support for each other. After the Super Bowl, the reality hit show, “The Voice”, that Blake is a part of premiered for the second season. Team Blake ultimately went on to win the whole show recently when Jermaine Paul won.
@blakeshelton: Still in shock… Thank you America!!! You picked the right guy… Congrats @JermainePaul…. You deserve this.
@Miranda_Lambert: Ahhhhhhhhhh !!! Team Blake did it!!!!!
To say their first year of marriage was all bliss and happiness would be a lie though. The Sheltons suffered major losses in their personal lives in the passing of Blake’s dad, Dick Shelton, and one of Miranda’s longtime friends. There were also feuds between Miranda and Ashton Kutcher and Chris Brown, both starting on Twitter. Eric Church took a stab and the Sheltons, and other country artists, in a recent interview.
But it seems that despite all they have been through personally and professionally, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are still as strong as they ever were. We wish Blake and Miranda many more happy years together!
