The Voice’s Angie Johnson To Attend Julep

Season two Team Cee Lo member, Angie Johnson, has been invited to be part of the exclusive celebrity list attending The Julep, one of the Kentucky Derby’s most high-profile pre-parties. The Julep takes place this Friday, May 4th, in Louisville, Kentucky. The singer-songwriter will be one of the estimated 1,000 guests at the party. Proceeds from The Julep will benefit the James Graham Brown Cancer Center. Other country stars slated to attend include Rodney Atkins, and Miranda Lambert is expected to attend the Kentucky Derby.

During her trip to Kentucky, Angie will make a special stop as she performs for patients, cancer survivors, and their families Thursday afternoon at the University of Louisville Hospital.

“My dad grew up in a coal mining family in Eastern Kentucky, so I was raised with Southern values on country music,” said Angie. “I’ve loved learning to sing different styles of music throughout my career, but country music is where my heart has always felt most at home.”

Angie shot to fame when a YouTube video of her performing Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” went viral. She found herself invited to the Blind Auditions for The Voice’s second season, landing a spot on Team Cee Lo. She’s currently in discussions to tour across the United States with several booking agents. For more information on Angie, and to see where you can catch her, visit her official website.
