Miranda Lambert Tries To Be Normal

It’s taken a lot of adjusting for country music’s biggest stars in Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton to get used to their new level of fame. With The Voice helping the pair become even more of a house-hold name, it’s a lot harder for the newlyweds to go out in public and be a “normal” couple. In an interview with MLive, Miranda shares that this is exactly why she is so thankful to be living in Oklahoma with Blake, where their neighbors see her as just “Miranda” and not “Miranda Lambert.”

“I try to live a normal life as much as possible. Living away from the activity and making my home in Oklahoma is a plus. I have a quiet life there, and love spending time with my animals, family and friends. Where I live in Oklahoma, I am just Miranda to the locals, and when I go to the feed store to buy stuff for my animals, they don’t care that I sing for a living.”

If one day all the fame disappears, Miranda says she won’t have a problem with that. At the end of the day, she knows who loves her and who will be there for her when she finally puts down her guitar for the last time.

“Living in the boonies is the great equalizer. When I get home, and I see my dogs and my farm animals and just hang out, it reminds me of what matters, and that if the fame goes away, I will still have people that I love and that love me back in my life.”

Miranda Lambert is back out on the road for her “On Fire” tour with Jerrod Niemann and Chris Young next week. Her next show is April 12th in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the BOK Center.
