Academy of Country Music nominated duo Love and Theft have announced some big news. The pair will be releasing their debut RCA Nashville album on June 5th. The self-titled album is a big step for Eric Gunderson and Stephen Barker Liles, who were formerly a trio before signing with RCA Nashville. While they are proud of their first record, which spawned a top 10 hit in “Runaway,” they feel as if this time around they were more able to be themselves and sing what they wanted to sing. They see themselves as a band that writes, records and performs honest country music.
The album is currently up for pre-order on Amazon.com. Check out the official cover art for the album:
They worked with producer Josh Leo on their new album, who had nothing but good things to say about the duo:
“Love and Theft is a true duo in every sense of the word,” says Leo. “They seamlessly trade lead vocals during the songs and sometimes, I’m not even 100% sure who is singing the lead. They are that good.”
The lead single from their upcoming album is “Angel Eyes,” which is currently sitting at number 31 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart and on Country Aircheck. The pair will also kick off the ACM week this weekend with a free performance on Fremont Street on Friday, March 30th at 7 pm PST.
