Carrie Underwood revealed the title and artwork for her upcoming fourth album: Blown Away.
The American Idol winner and Grand Ole Opry member made revealing the album title and artwork an all-day affair. She slowly revealed parts of the album cover; filling out a picture of the artwork like putting in pieces of a puzzle. It took about five hours for all of the pieces to fall into place. Naturally, they waited the longest, about an hour, to reveal the final piece — the one that revealed the album name. The album cover (see below) was shot by renowned photographer Randee St. Nicholas.
Blown Away will be released on May 1. Carrie’s previous three albums, 2005?s Some Hearts, 2007?s Carnival Ride and 2009?s Play On, all debuted at the top of the Billboard country album charts. Play On and Carnival Ride also topped the Billboard 200 when they were released. Some Hearts came close, but settled for #2 in the Billboard 200. (The top spot that week went to Madonna’s Confessions On A Dance Floor.) It’s a safe bet that Blown Away will be the her fourth straight number one country album and most likely her third overall number one album.
We’ll all find out shortly after May 1. Stay tuned!
