American Idol: Top 24 Country Girls
There are three country girls that are a part of the Top 24 on American Idol this year.
Chelsea Sorrell is 23-years-old and hails from North Carolina. Chelsea had the stressful task of kicking off the show last night. She sang American Idol winner and country superstar, Carrie Underwood’s, “Cowboy Casanova.” She received mediocre comments from the judges who thought that nerves may have gotten the best of her.
After a few more contestants performed, Skylar Laine took the stage. The 18-year-old from Mississippi rocked the house with an energetic performance of the Faces’ hit, “Stay With Me.” Her style and vibe remind me of Miranda Lambert. She received a great deal of praise from Randy, Jennifer, & Steven last night. I think she might be in!
Later on, our last Season 11 country girl took to the Idol stage. Texas native, Baylie Brown, performed Lonestar’s “Amazed.” It was not as strong as some of Baylie’s previous auditions, and the judges panel felt that she did not grab control of the song.
What did you think of the Top 12 girls last night? How do you think our country girls did?
