Who would have imagined the day that country music great Vince Gill would be without a major recording contract? Just a few days after performing at CRS for the Universal Music Group’s luncheon at the Ryman; it looks like he really has left his label home of over 23 years. The announcement was made by Vince himself:
“For the first time in 30 years, I don’t have a record deal. Don’t know that I want one. I’m just grateful for where I’ve been, and you’ve been a big part of where I’ve been and where I’m going. To my MCA family, it was really a sweet ride the last 23 years, and I appreciate everything you do.”
Vince might not have a major recording deal in place, but that’s not stopping him from touring. His next date is on March 2nd in Biloxi, MS at the Beau Rivage Theater. He returns to the Grand Ole Opry on March 16th. For a full list of upcoming Vince dates, visit his official website.
