Scotty McCreery Goes Gold
Congratulations to current American Idol winner Scotty McCreery, who found out today that his single “The Trouble With Girls” is now a RIAA-certified gold single. His single has become his third consecutive RIAA-gold or higher certified released after selling over 500,000 copies. It’s his second single to receive a plaque after “I Love You This Big” was certified gold previously. His debut album “Clear As Day” had already gone platinum for selling over 1 million units after only three months of its release.
“Having the first single go Gold was crazy, but having the second single go Gold and to see the response it is getting in our shows is incredible,”Scotty said. “I wish I could come up with better words than ‘wild’ and ‘incredible,’ because this is really special. It’s a huge honor. I’m glad the single is doing well and I’m looking forward to keep singing it on the road.”
Fans can catch a special interview with Scotty on GAC on March 19th as part of the New Artist Of The Year special. It premieres at 9 pm EST on GAC. He’s up for the New Artist Of The Year award with the Academy of Country Music. The award show airs live from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on April 1st.
