GRAMMY-nominated country music artist Ty Herndon released a brand-new single to country radio today. “Stones,” the lead single from his upcoming 2012 album, was originally recorded for a project he completed a few years ago but was never released. While Ty was searching for new material for his new album, he re-discovered the song and decided to give it another shot. He re-recorded the single and the updated version impressed him so much that he found it was an easy decision to release it as the lead single from his new record.
“The song ‘Stones’ is really a metaphor for all of those defining moments in our lives that we are faced with,” says Herndon. “Like the lyrics say, ‘from the cradle to the grave, our lives are paved with stones.’ I’ve always felt it was such a remarkable and thought-provoking song, and it’s really stuck with me through the years. I’m just thrilled that I’m finally able to share it with my fans. I can’t think of a better song to release as the first single from my new album.”
“Stones” is the first single he’s released since his 2010 chart-topping album “Journey On.” That album earned Ty a GRAMMY nomination in the Best Southern, Bluegrass or Country Gospel Album field and won the singer a Dove Award for the inspirational duet “When We Fly.” The title track from the album was selected as the signature song and music video song for the nonprofit ALS organization the Kevin Turner Foundation.
“Stones” is out for adds at country radio right now. The song was a co-write by Jimbreau Hinson, Kim Tribble, and Jon Michaels.
