Jana Kramer’s New Single Sets Radio Record
Jana Kramer has received a very warm welcome from country radio!
The country singer and One Tree Hill star broke a radio record this week with the release of her official debut single, “Why Ya Wanna.” The song was added to more than 55 radio stations, setting the record for most adds for a debut artist since Mediabase launched its Country Aircheck chart in 2006. Kramer not only set a new record, she nearly tripled the number of radio adds for a debut female artist.
Kramer was very excited about the big news: “I have to thank country radio for believing in me. I’m beyond humbled and excited for this amazing start to my music career.”
“Why Ya Wanna” is currently available on iTunes, and will be included on her upcoming album to be released later this year on Elektra Nashville.
While the track marks Kramer’s first official radio single, she has sold almost 200,000 downloads of her digital single releases.
What a way to officially join the country music scene! Congratulations to Jana! We look forward to following what we are sure will be a great music career.
