Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton will be kicking-off the Super Bowl this Sunday in Indianapolis. Well, at least vocally they will be. The couple will open the event by singing a duet version of “America the Beautiful.” This will be the couple’s first TV performance since they got married last May.
And while we all have to wait until Sunday to see the performance, we can all hear it now. The song is now available for purchase at iTunes. You can get it by clicking here.
This Sunday will be a huge day for Blake. Along with the Super Bowl singing with his spouse, he’ll also be returning as a coach on NBC’s The Voice. Season two of the smash singing show premieres right after the Super Bowl. Now that’s what we call a lead-in!
As for Miranda, she’s also extremely busy. After the Super Bowl, she’ll head back on the road with her “On Fire” tour. So far her tour has received rave reviews, including one from us which you can read here. But before she hits the road again, Miranda will be hitting the small screen. She will be making her prime-time acting debut on an episode of Law And Order: SVU. Her episode airs February 8 on NBC. Plus, Miranda (along with friend Kelly Clarkson) will be joining Blake on The Voice, serving as an advisor.
But wait! There’s more! Miranda’s latest single, “Over You,” continues to climb the charts. The song, which is co-written by Miranda and Blake, deals with the death of Blake’s older brother. The song currently sits at #25 on the latest Mediabase chart.
