In this season of giving, Danielle Peck and some of her fellow country music stars are doing their part to help the homeless.  Last month, Peck held her 4th Annual “Danielle Peck and Friends Concert” which supports the Nashville-based Safe Haven Family Shelter.  She’s now following it up with an online auction featuring an awesome assortment of autographs, guitars and other collectables.

Joe Nichols, Toby Keith & Eli Young Band Added To American Country New Years Eve

Joe Nichols, Toby Keith and the Eli Young Band are the latest additions to the “American Country New Years Eve Live” line-up. The special, which will air on FOX on New Years Eve, features the best in country music live from New York City and the Las Vegas strip. Rodney Carrington will serve as host, with performances from Lauren Alaina and Rodney Atkins already announced. All performers will perform their latest hits as they help to countdown the minutes to 2012.

“American Country New Years Eve Live” airs on FOX starting at 11 pm EST, and will air tape-delayed for other time zones.

Blake Shelton Ringing In The New Year On NBC

Warner Music Nashville’s superstar Blake Shelton will be ringing in the New Year on NBC. He’s been announced as a performer on Carson Daly’s “NBC’s New Years Eve With Carson Daly.” Joining Blake are pop stars Drake, Jessie J, Tony Bennett, The Roots, and fellow The Voice coach Cee Lo Green.

The show is also set to feature a special segment with “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” host Jimmy Fallon performing a comedy routine from the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, and NBC anchor Brian Williams giving his 2011 music review. Carson will also have his own countdown of the top five game-changers of 2011.

“There is no better place to be in the world on New Year’s Eve than in Times Square,” said Carson. “I look forward to this night all year—to ring in the New Year with millions of people across the country— it’s a blast!”

The two-hour live special airs on NBC on New Years Eve starting at 10 pm EST. It will take a half-hour break between 11:00 – 11:30 pm EST, before continuing right through to 12:30 am EST. The broadcast will be taped live from downtown New York City’s Times Square.


The Roys Celebrating Christmas Around The World December 24 & 25th

The Roys, the biggest bluegrass group this year, are bringing “A Nashville’s New Country Christmas” to listeners around the world on December 24th and 25th. They’ll be hosting a two-hour syndicated which features new cuts from fan favorites like Kellie Pickler, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, The Lunabelles, and Chris Young. They’ll also be playing songs off of the critically acclaimed “Skaggs Family Christmas Volume Two CD” and Joey + Rory‘s “Farmhouse Christmas.” The brother-and-sister duo will perform an acoustic version of “Jingle Bells” to round-out the Christmas special.

Miranda Lambert was the guest on CBS’ The Talk show yesterday for a sit-down interview. She found out from the hosts that her husband, Blake Shelton, had changed the way they did their show. Find out how Miranda was surprised for their honeymoon, discusses starting a family with Blake, and her parents being private investigators and how she used to join them at stakeouts.

George Jones, Glen Campbell To Be Honored With Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award

The Recording Academy announced today their Special Merit Award winners for the 2012 GRAMMY awards. Among the all-genre selections are George Jones and Glen Campbell. The ceremony will take place at a special invitation-only reception during GRAMMY week February 11th, 2012 and a formal announcement of the winners will also appear during the television broadcast of the GRAMMY awards. The GRAMMY awards will be held at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on February 12th, 2012 starting at 8 pm EST on CBS.

“This year’s honorees offer a variety of brilliance, contributions and lasting impressions on our culture,” said President/CEO of The Recording Academy Neil Portnow. “It is an honor to recognize such a diverse group of individuals whose talents and achievements have had an indelible impact on our industry.”

The Lifetime Achievement Award acknowledges performers who have made significant contributions to the music industry. The award is determined by vote of the Recording Academy Board of Trustees. Other artists honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012 are the Allman Brothers, Diana Ross, Antonio Carlos Jobin, The Memphis Horns, and Gil-Scott Heron. Steve Jobs, Dave Bartholomew and Rudy Van Gelder will recieve the Trustees Award at the same ceremony.

Lady Antebellum‘s reps confirm that Dave Haywood is engaged!

The 29 year-old proposed to his girlfriend, Kelli Cashiola, this past Monday. Cashiola is the VP of marketing/brand management at Warner Music Nashville. The two have been dating for approximately 7 months, and have been friends for years.

Haywood gets the girl stamp of approval with the proposal. He reportedly turned Cashiola’s home into a winter wonderland and spelled out “Will You Marry Me” in Christmas lights on the front of the house. Very sweet!

Possible Oscar Nods For Brad Paisley & Zac Brown

The final Oscar nominees for “Best Original Song” are still being considered, but our very own country stars, Brad Paisley and Zac Brown, may find themselves on the final nominations list.

Paisley wrote and recorded “Collision of Worlds” for the Cars 2 soundtrack, while Brown along with Wyatt Durrette, Drew Pearson, and Anne Preven penned “Where the River Goes” for the Footloose soundtrack. Brown also recorded the track. The two songs are in contention with 37 other finalists.

The final nominees will be revealed on January 24th, and the Academy Awards will take place on February 26th in Los Angeles.

It’s the time of year when traveling quickly becomes a headache, and that was the case for country music singer Joanna Smith last week. After her plane was late in New York, she had to rush to make it to her show at Huntington. She made it – with only moments to spare, but didn’t have time to do her hair and makeup on her own.

That’s when American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina stepped in. Lauren curled Joanna’s hair for her, since they were both performing at the concert, and got her friend all ready to hit the stage – and on-time!

Oh, baby! First look at Eric Church’s son


Ten weeks after his birth, were getting our first look at little Boone McCoy Church (see full pic below).  The first child for Eric Church and wife Katherine was captured looking up from the casing of his daddy’s 6-string guitar.  Boone is a very healthy and happy boy, and according to Eric, is the most amazing gift he’s ever received.
