Darius Rucker Recording New Album In January

Darius Rucker announced at the Mastercard GRAMMY Artists Revealed concert that he’ll be working on a new album in the new year.  It will be his third solo country music album since he made the departure to the genre.

“We’ll start recording in January,” he revealed. “It will be out early next year.”

Even with five number one country hits, the Hootie & The Blowfish frontman also reassures fans that there will be one more Hootie album one day.

“We’ll always be together,” Rucker told CBSNews.com. “I don’t think we’ll ever break up totally. We’re Hootie & the Blowfish … We’ll make another record and do another tour someday. I don’t know when, but it will happen. There’s one more in us.”

Darius will join Lady Antebellum‘s “Own The Night” tour in January with Thompson Square.
