Blake Shelton Wishes Nashville Was More Pop
In a September interview with The Boot, Blake Shelton expressed his frustration with Nashville politics in terms of radio airplay. The title track from his album “Red River Blue” features backing vocals with his wife, Miranda Lambert, but it will never make it to radio as a single because of the red tape.
“That’s one of the things that drive me and Miranda crazy about Nashville,” he continues, “the fact that it’s so hard to collaborate with people. Look at other genres, and that’s almost all they do! It seems like they know what they’re doing, as far as selling a lot of music. So it’s frustrating.“
