Looks like Kellie Pickler really is as “Tough” as her single says. The American Idol alum took to Twitter to defend fellow American Idol contestant Lauren Alaina from being picked on for her lyric flub in the National Anthem. Lauren messed up a line in “The Star Spangled Banner” before the Greenbay Packers and Detroit Lions NFL game. People were quick to make fun of the mistake, which Kellie took personal:
“IN A TIME WHERE BULLYING IS AT ITS WORST I’M SO DISAPPOINTED THAT GROWN MEN & WOMEN ARE RIPPING APART A 17YR OLD. WHEN PEOPLE FALL… …YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP THEM UP, NOT KICK EM’ FURTHER DOWN. DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU. BE KIND.”
She continued on Twitter by telling Lauren directly of her support:
“@Lauren_Alaina HEY DOLL! YOU HANDLED YOURSELF LIKE A PRO! SEND THE BULLIES MY WAY & I’LL TELL EM’ WHERE TO GO! XO :)”
Kellie will be releasing her new album “100 Proof” next year.
