Joey + Rory Take Home Vocal Duo Award

Husband and wife duo Joey + Rory took home yet another award on the weekend at the ICM Faith, Family & Country award show. They were announced as the 2011 winners of the “Vocal Duo” award at the ceremony held in Nashville last week. They just stepped off the stage after performing “That’s What’s Important To Me” when they heard their names.

“Wow, we were not by any means expecting to win this award and are so appreciative,” said Joey, as they accepted the award. “I want to thank this man standing beside me, my husband, for going on this crazy journey with me. As a successful songwriter, he always remained in the background and this has been his biggest fear and worst nightmare to be on tv or in front of a bunch of people…”  Rory chimes in jokingly, “I kinda like it now.”  “God’s been mighty good to us and we have Him to thank for all the blessings everyday that we get to experience.”

The duo won the 2010 Academy of Country Music award for “Top New Vocal Duo” last year. They’ll be hitting the road in December to help promote their new Christmas album “A Farmhouse Christmas” with a tour that kicks off November 25th.
