Town Of Less Than 500 Wins Alan Jackson Contest

The winning town of the Alan Jackson concert has been announced, and it’s a real small town of less than 500 residents. Mineral, VA has been named as the location of Eventful Inc.’s Alan Jackson contest. The contest gave towns and cities across North America a chance to get Alan to play in their towns by voting online to have him there. The small town, which was the victim of an August 23rd earthquake that measured a 5.8 magnitude, got more than 31,000 votes in the contest.

Now the hard part: trying to find a venue for the concert. Organizers are debating between Walton Park and the Louisa County High School football stadium to host the 1,000 to 3,000 fans expected to attend the concert. No date has yet been announced, but should be soon in the following days.
