Rodney Atkins has partnered up with Applebee’s to launch the world’s largest ongoing thank you campaign for the United States military. He’s been named the Ambassador of the Thank You Movement, and he officially launched the campaign this morning on NBC’s The TODAY show. Following his announcement this morning, Rodney then performed for a group of veterans and military organizations in New York City’s Times Square. Special guests honored at the performance included members of Pinnacle Five, an organization made up of senior military officials from all branches of the military, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and military.com – the largest military veteran membership comprised of over 10 million members.
The Thank You Movement aims to have ordinary Americans thank the troops and veterans for their service for America. You can submit your messages online at thankyoumovement.com, Applebee’s FaceBook fan page, with the hashtag #thankyoumovement on Twitter, or through YouTube. The website will feature on-going live “thank yous” from across the country and world where Veterans can visit to see.
