Carrie Underwood and KaBOOM! Build Hometown Playground
Checotah, Oklahoma gets a visit from hometown superstar Carrie Underwood – and for a good cause, too!
Underwood, alongside more than 200 volunteers, helped build a KaBOOM! playground at Marshall Elementary School. Carole, Carrie’s mom, who taught at the school, was also on hand to pitch in. The project was undertaken by the C.A.T.S Foundation (Checotah Animal, Town, and School Foundation). Underwood created the foundation in 2009 to contribute to her hometown, including the local animal shelter and the local school music program.

“We had the most amazing day putting together something truly special for the kids and the community. I’m so proud that so many volunteered their time to be here today.”
