Sugarland Named As Defendants After Stage Collapse
Sugarland may be facing lawsuits in the wake of the tragic Indiana State Fair collapse. The families of two victims have filed court documents and the band, and their staff, have shown up on both notices. The stage collapse had killed seven people and injured forty others on August 13th, 2011.
Jennifer Haskell was a big Sugarland fan who was in the front row when the stage crushed her and her best friend, Alina BigJohny. Alina passed away on the scene, but Jennifer passed away six days later and became the sixth victim of the accident. Sugarland was named as the defendants in the case for “gross negligence” and “recklessness.” There has been no lawsuit filed at this time by either family, these are only notices.
