Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller has announced plans to award the victims of the tragic Indiana State Fair collapse the maximum award under state law. The victims will receive five million dollars under the government liability law. Wednesday, fair officials also announced that they will set up a relief fund separate from this award from the government for the victims. The fund contains over $800,000 from private companies and individuals. No details are available yet on what the criteria will be to decide who will get what from these funds.
“I can pledge, on behalf of the commission,” said Chairman of the INDIANA STATE FAIR COMMISSION ANDRE LACY, “that we are going to try to get at least something to the victims as quickly as we can.”
