The Roys To Host World-Famous Radio Special
Brother-sister Bluegrass group The Roys are preparing to host a world-famous radio special Saturday, September 17th. The duo will be the hosts of the “Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree” which will be streamed live on WSM radio, home of the Grand Ole Opry broadcasts. The stream begins at midnight September 17th.
The group’s recent hit “Coal Minin’ Man” flew up the Bluegrass singles charts and earned them multiple number one spots including #1 on the Power Source Top 35 Bluegrass Chart, #1 on Hot Disc International Top 40 Chart, and is currently holding the #4 position on the Bluegrass Music Profiles’ Top 30 Hot Singles Chart. It’s also top 5 on the Bluegrass Unlimited Top 30 Song Chart. The hot single is the lead track off of their album “Lonesome Whistle” which has also won its share of accolades since its release. The record debuted at #7 on Billboard’s Bluegrass Albums Chart.
The two-time Inspirational Country Music Duo of the Year will be kicking off IBMA’s 2011 World of Bluegrass Week on September 25th when they’ll perform the National Anthem live at the Tennessee Titans’ football game. It will be their first NFL appearance.
