Rascal Flatts took some time away from Flatts Fest today to celebrate in Nashville. Not only did “I Won’t Let Go” become the latest number one hit for the superstar trio, but their album “Nothing Like This” went platinum with over 1,000,000 copies sold of the record. “I Won’t Let Go” is the 13th number one hit of their career. Big Machine Records and ASCAP co-hosted the event this evening honoring these two feats. The boys were surprised with the platinum news of their album while giving a speech on their number one hit single.
“With God’s help we have been able to bring together a wonderful group of people to surround and reinvigorate our career. We are living a dream come true.” – Jay DeMarcus
Rascal Flatts become only the fourth country act in history to have six consecutive studio albums debut at #1 on the charts. The band is the most awarded group in country music history, with over 40 combined awards from the Country Music Association (CMA), Academy of Country Music (ACM), American Music Awards (AMA), People’s Choice Awards (PCA), Teen Choice Awards (TCA), and American Country Awards (ACAs). They have sold over 6 million tickets to their tours alone since they first started headlining.
