Six police officers suspended for helping Taylor Swift
Six Metro Nashville police officers have put their careers in jeopardy for lending a helping hand to Taylor Swift and her tour security team. An internal investigation at their department discovered that they were denied permission to take on this off-duty job but they went through with it anyway. The officers were paid somewhere between $30 to $35 an hour for working 20 days last Summer as part of her team, WSMV-TV Nashville is reporting.
The officers performed tasks as simple as shuttling around the young singer and her team, and filling up gas tanks and other tasks as needed. They never provided security for the superstar or her team, but served as assistants to her security group. An anonymous tipster alerted the police department on the six officers going against the rules of the force and lead to the investigation.
