Looks like the Pistol Annies are already having an influence on the music world before their first album even comes out! A few weeks before the Pistol Annies, also known as Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, are to release their debut album “Hell on Heels,” Kelly Clarkson has announced her own all-girl trio Almost Famous. Almost Famous is made up of Kelly Clarkson and her two best friends who are also her backup singers: Jill Pickering and Kate Rapier. The girls came up with their name when they were shopping for nail polish.
Although Clarkson is very much pop, it isn’t too crazy to think the girls may go with a country sound for their first album, which they are currently recording right now in Oklahoma. Clarkson has had major country chart hits with her duets with Reba McEntire (“Because of You”), and with Jason Aldean (“Don’t You Wanna Stay”). She has also performed in the past with Rascal Flatts on What Hurts The Most for the 2006 Academy of Country Music (ACM) awards. She’s also surprised country fans by joining Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire onstage earlier this year at one of the two tornado relief concerts. This surprise performance also included a version of her hit with Aldean with Shelton instead.
