Fred Imus Passes Away at 69
Fred Imus, brother of Don Imus, passed away this weekend at the age of 69. He was found at his home in Tucson, Arizona after failing to show up to co-host his “Fred’s Trailer Park Bash” show on Sirius/XM’s Outlaw Country channel. He often appeared on his brother’s syndicated talk show early in the mornings.
He had co-written the number one hit “I Don’t Want to Have to Marry You” which was recorded by Jim Ed Brown and Helen Cornelius. He had started the “Auto Body Express” body shop which later transformed into a mail-order catalog thanks to his brother’s promotions on his show. He also wrote two books: “Two Guys Four Corners,” and, “The FRED Book.” He also helped operate the “Imus Ranch” with his brother for children battling cancer.
Don’s flagship station has set up a memorial page for his brother, including highlight clips of the brothers’ interaction on Don’s show. Check it out HERE.
