Looks like Blake Shelton’s reign at the top of the charts is over – and by no one other than Eric Church. “Chief” has become the number one album on Billboard’s all-genresĀ and country albums charts with over 145,000 copies sold its first week. He managed to do this before his lead singleĀ “Homeboy” even broke top ten at country radio. It’s his first number one album on Billboard.
Albums he beat out include British pop sensation Adele and former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland. Shelton’s “Red River Blue” sits at number eight on the all-genre chart after selling an additional 31,000 copies the last week.
