Is Taylor Swift Going Political?
Taylor Swift is making another first in country music: allowing political organizations to raise money at her Washington, D.C. concerts on August 2nd and 3rd. The Big Machine Label artist has decided to let South Dakota Republican Senator John Thune, Alabama Republican Congressman Jo Bonner, Georgia Republican Congressman Tom Price, New York Republican Congressman Michael Grimm, Texas Republican Congresswoman Kay Granger, and North Carolina Democratic Congresswoman Health Shuler all fund raise before her sold-out August 2nd show.
Her August 3rd performance will feature only Georgia Republican Congressman Paul Broun.
This isn’t the first time Swift let politicans hold events alongside her concerts. Last year, she let three other politicians hold fund-raisers at her Washington show, reports the Daily Caller.
What do you think about Swift’s decision to let politics mix with music? Should it be allowed or do you think these things should be completely separate?
