“Proud To Be Here” was recorded during the Spring, and was produced by Kenny Beard and Mark Wright. Adkins songwriting takes center attention this time around, as he wrote or co-wrote many of the songs featured on this record. He’ll also show off his sense of humor on the bonus track with friend Blake Shelton on the much-anticipated release next week.

He’s got a busy release week ahead for him next week. On Tuesday, August 2nd, the album release date, Adkins will perform the lead-off single “Just Fishin'” on the Today show, and fans can tune in to Extra later that night to catch an interview with Adkins at his Nashville farm after the fire that destroyed the family home. Adkins will also appear on Fox & Friends on Wednesday, then he’ll be the guest on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight on the 10th, then he’ll take on Chelsea Lately on the 11th.

Don’t forget you can also catch Adkins live on ABC’s “CMA Fest Special: Country’s Night to Rock” on the 14th, as well as on History Channel’s “You Don’t Know Dixie” special on the 17th. The History Channel special will feature Adkins’ stories of living in the South and his memories of Louisiana.

His busy schedule keeps going in September when he’ll spend the 10th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks with the USO in a German air base. He’ll perform a special concert for the troops on the anniversary. This special tour marks the 6th time Adkins has honored the troops overseas. He’ll also return to the Oil Rigs in September to return to his former job for the tv show “Day Jobs” which will air September 14th on GAC. Adkins will take a camera crew through the hard life of being a “roughneck.”
