Martina McBride’s Last Minute July the Fourth Plans

After Lionel Richie was forced to cancel his appearance at the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular because of strained vocal chords, Martina McBride quickly filled-in at the last minute. McBride performed for 800,000 fans and 6.5 million viewers for July the Fourth live on CBS from the Charles River Esplanade in Boston.

“I was so grateful to be asked to fill in and so thrilled to be able to do it. Standing in front of the amazing Boston Pops in such a great and historic city in front of a crowd of 800,000 people on our country’s Independence Day was something I will never forget.”

McBride will be releasing “Teenage Daughters,” her first album with Republic Nashville, on October 18th. She co-wrote seven  of the tracks on the album, including the title track which was the first single off of the album.
