Country music seems to be taking the big leap into the mainstream audience these days. The nominees for the 2011 Teen Choice Awards were announced on Thursday, and country superstar Taylor Swift is leading the pack with six nominations. She’s up for female artist, female country artist, country single for “Mean,” music love song for “Mine,” choice break-up song with “Back To December,” and red carpet icon: female.

Other country artists up for nomination include Blake Shelton, with country single “Honey Bee,” male artist, and even his hit tv show The Voice is up for an award.  He competes in the male country artist category against Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban and Luke Bryan. Shelton’s wife, Miranda Lambert, is up for female country artist against Kellie Pickler, Carrie Underwood, Jennette McCurdy and Swift.

Voting is open now for teens aged 19 and under. Every category is fan-voted at the Teen Choice Awards, which will air on Fox on August 7th.
