Ash Bowers wants to give your hometown hero $5,000
Ash Bowers and Stoney Creek Records want to give your hometown hero $5,000 for impacting your community. The “Homegrown Hero” online contest will recognize and reward a local hero nominated by Bowers’ fans. The contest started on May 30th, 2011 and continues until September 5th, 2011.
To enter, fans need to nominate their hero by submitting a 150-or-less word essay telling why that person is a homegrown hero and they deserve the $5,000 cash prize. This can be done on his official Facebook page HERE.
The contest was inspired by Bowers’ lyrics from his new single “I Still Believe In That:”
“Our heroes and our idols were homegrown/ Didn’t find them on no TV show/ They were our teachers and our preachers/ Our soldier’s, moms and dads / I still believe in that.”
There’s still plenty of time to nominate your hero for this contest. Good luck!
