Rhett Akins Renews with EMI
Songwriter Rhett Akins has extended his contract with EMI Music Publishing. Akins has written several hit songs in his time at EMI, including songs such as “Gimme That Girl” (Joe Nichols), “All About Tonight” (Blake Shelton), “All Over Me” (Josh Turner), “Farmer’s Daughter” (Rodney Atkins), “Put A Girl In It” (Brooks and Dunn), “The Shape I’m In” (Joe Nichols) and has co-written songs such as “Honey Bee” (Blake Shelton) and “Take A Back Road” (Joe Nichols).
Akins moved to Nashville over 15 years ago and has been with EMI for 6 years. As a recording artist, his hits include “That Ain’t My Truck” and “She Said Yes.” In 2010, he was named one of Billboard’s top five country songwriters and has sold over 2.5 million digital downloads overall in his time as an artist.
