Martina McBride Raises Over $153,000 for Nashville YMCA

Martina McBride was on-hand again this year for the annual YMCA Celebrity Auction in Nashville on Sunday. The charity auction brought in over $153,000 to the YMCA, a 50% increase in funds from last year’s event. The highest bid of the day went to McBride’s black dress from the re-opening of the Grand Ole Opry last year after the historic flood. Her dress brought in $27,000 alone.

Other items with high bids of the night included $1,500 for McBride’s leopard 80’s style outfit with the grey boots from her “Teenage Daughters” music video. A guitar that formerly belonged to Keith Urban brought in $4,000.

“I am always amazed at the big hearts of Country music fans. Even in these tough economic times, they realize there is a need to help these women and children who have taken the first step toward getting out of a bad situation and are starting their life over. Their compassion and generosity inspires me.

McBride has hosted the event every year since 1995.
