Ten years after first arriving in Nashville looking for a record deal, Luke Bryan and CMT have announced that he will headline the tenth annual CMT: On Tour in September. Special guests Lee Brice and Josh Thompson will open up for Bryan.
Bryan has previously opened for Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts and Jason Aldean.
CMT: On Tour last year helped to launch Miranda Lambert into superstardom on her own first headlining tour across the United States. Other former stars that have participated in CMT: On Tour include Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, and Jason Aldean. Brad Paisley launched the tour back in 2002.
“If you move to town and you don’t dream to headline your own shows one day, then I don’t think you’re necessarily aiming your sights high enough,” Bryan told The Associated Press in a recent phone interview. “That’s kind of where we’re at today, and we’re just wanting to get out there and enjoy headlining.”
“CMT: On Tour Tailgates & Tanlines” will tour approximately 25 cities this Fall. Dates and cities are to be announced shortly on CMT.com. Bryan is preparing to release his newest studio album “Tailgates & Tanlines” on August 9th.
