Josh Kelley is teaming up with the Con-Agra Foods Foundation’s Hunger-Free Summer Program with Feeding America. As his role as the celebrity spokesman for the organization, he will travel around America to visit food banks to raise awareness of childhood hunger and poverty in the United States. He will volunteer his time at food banks that have received Hunger-Free Summer grants for community-based programs. Kelley will visit food banks in Kansas City, Austin, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Omaha.
He is planning on bringing to attention that over 21 million American children in low-income families each school year receive lunches each weekday from the United States Department of Agriculture’s free and reduced-price lunch program. However, when school is over, these children do not have these meals and face hunger every day. The Hunger-Free Summer program is dedicated to providing lunches to these children.
He will be also be spending much of his time this year opening for Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now” tour.
