Miranda Lambert’s 4th Annual “Cause For The Paws” Raises $294,000
Miranda Lambert’s 4th Annual “Cause For The Paws” benefit was held recently in downtown Tyler, TX. More than 7,000 people showed up for the event, which included a concert by Miranda and guests Stoney LaRue and Josh Kelley. This year’s $294,000 was raised through ticket sales, sponsorship and auction items. The total amount of money raised in the last four years totals close to $600,000.
All proceeds from the event will go toward Miranda’s foundation, MuttNation. The foundation supports animal shelters and the Humane Society of East Texas, which has become a no-kill shelter with Miranda’s help.
“This year we took our event to the streets of Tyler to open it up to a broader fan base for both Miranda and the shelter,” said Bev Lambert who is the Director of MuttNation, and also Miranda’s mom. “There was no shortage of support in this community. Going from 1000 to over 7000 in attendance was quite the feat and we are more than thrilled with the outcome! We want to thank all of our amazing sponsors and the City of Tyler as well as the people of East Texas and beyond for joining us in the fight to aid homeless, abandoned, neglected and abused animals.”
Miranda has several animals of her own that she’s adopted from the local shelter, including her dog Delilah seen in the featured photo. Her other rescue animals include Jesse, Waylon, Delta Dawn, Cher, Black Berry, Virginia Bluebell and cats Shelley, Maxine, and Suzie Q, along with some farm animals.
