She might not have won the crown Wednesday night, but American Idol’s runner up Lauren Alaina earned the praise of her own idol, Carrie Underwood. Underwood, who performed a duet of Before He Cheats with Alaina on the finale, told her to keep her head up no matter what the results were that night.
“Right before we went out there, she said, ‘No matter what, Lauren, you’re a winner and you’re going to be amazing in the country field. That was really uplifting.”
