Like many brides-to-be, Miranda Lambert wants to be in great shape for her upcoming wedding to Blake Shelton. With a demanding tour schedule on her plate as well, Miranda made it her goal to get healthy for both her wedding and her stage show. She let Fox News in on some of her fitness secrets as she prepares to walk down the aisle.
“I eat a lot of protein and eat pretty clean,” Miranda said. “Junk food drags you down. I try not to have anything less than two hours before I go on stage, because I don’t want to be up there all bloated. I basically have a grilled-chicken salad after the show, and that fills me up.” She also has a trainer out on the road with her who puts her through her paces each day. “We do a lot of circuit training, lunges and crunches,” she said. “And every morning we walk for 30 minutes.”
In an industry that tends to be critical of looks, Miranda doesn’t let that affect her. She is okay with her curves and is a role model for other ‘normal’ girls. “The bigger you get, the more pressure you have to deal with,” she said. “The hard part is I’m a normal-size girl, and I’m fine with that. All these stars are so tiny, and they spend their lives trying to be skinny. I want to look my best, but I’m not a model. I’m not an actress. I’m representing normal girls. It’s OK to have a little bit of curve. I’m happy with my body. So many girls come up to me and say, “Thank you for being normal,” and I’m proud of that.”
Miranda and Blake will wed next month before kicking off busy summer tours.
